Supermarine Spitfire XVIe

TE288

oops

Taken at the RNZAF museum, Christchurch. 24 August, 1993. TE288 was donated to the Canterbury Brevet Club in the year I was born, and mounted on a plinth at Harewood outside the club premises. In 1984 the aircraft was exchanged for a fibreglass replica (moulded from TE288) and restored by the RNZAF. It is displayed in the colours of OU-V 485(NZ) SQN.

I was really pleased with this picture - I just sat the camera on the wingtip - and here it is. The dioramas in the museum are superb!
