TBF-1c Avenger

NZ2504 as NZ2521

oops

Taken at the RNZAF museum, Christchurch. 24 August, 1993. A great diorama! NZ2504 was one of the first six TBF's delivered to the RNZAF in 1943, and did not retire until 1959 - when it baecame a gate guardian. Originally restored in the colours of a target tug, it now represents an aircraft of 30SQN as based in Piva, Bougainville in 1944.

I think this display succesfully shows how big these single-engine bombers are!
