Westland HAS.1 Wasp

Taken aboard HMNZS Southland at the Port of Tauranga, August 1991. Starboard side, looking aft - the pilots seat doesn't look terribly comfortable. The lack of doors is quite common however, as a safety precaution for operating over water (chilly though!). Note the undercarriage legs. A Mark 46 practice torpedo (painted orange) is mounted below.
